Ep 148 Geoff

Everyone can rest easy. Lincoln is finally up the levels of Presidential finery that you probably suspected was coming if you have ever visited me in the last few years.

For those of you that haven't had the privilege of visiting my house, you might be interested to learn that back in the wild days of 2006, I commissioned a black velvet painting of Abraham Lincoln. Abe hangs above my fireplace, and casts his soulful, knowing gaze over my living room.

One of these days, I might commission a painting of Frederick as well...

Ep 148 Dolby

Lincoln once made the mistake of taking his bat-shit insane wife out with him to a troop inspection. Mary-Todd saw the wife of one of the other officers riding on a horse next to Lincoln's and broke into a fit, refusing to be calmed, and then launching into another tirade at dinner over the affront to her station (she was riding behind in a coach at the time). Screeching and bawling in front of the other officers and troops, she insisted on retribution while Lincoln just sort of gently patted her and waited for the storms to subside.
