As a result of a mysterious Robot Beaver attack, the 1840s version of Abraham Lincoln is rapidly aging, his only hope of survival a quick teleport to the stasis year where/when Voltaire and Frederick have set up their headquarters. But will it be too little, too late? And is it a terribly good idea to pop into Voltaire’s unannounced with a freakishly aged ex/soon-to-be President dragging behind you? And has anybody thought of telling Peter anything? A Cure Too Late, or a Bridge Too Far – it’s for you to find out in Episode 127: Dalliance Interruptus!

I am, historically, quite possibly the worst drawer of women ever. So, when I first saw Geoff’s script for this episode I was trying to figure out a way to draw everything from behind, or maybe allegorically as an interaction between rectangles and circles… possibly a drawing of Voltaire with pictures of Anne-Sophie Mutter taped to either side of him…
In the end, though, I faced my fate, and things didn’t turn out as badly as I thought they would, so yay!

So, for this comic I really wanted to find a late 18th century French woman that was involved in nursing/doctoring/medicine in some way so that we could model one of Voltaire’s guests after her.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find one at all. But I learned a few things about female medical pioneers (who weren’t French, were mostly English, and were mostly mid-19th century).

Abraham Lincoln has been attacked by a robot beaver!! Just when everything seemed to be going well, and the defeat of the Thoremerson was well-nigh-imminent, Honest Abe has fallen. Has the Great Emancipator died? Been turned into a beaver, perhaps? Turned into a beaver, killed, then resurrected as Abe and killed again? You won’t know, ever, if you don’t rush RIGHT NOW to Episode 126 : Everyone Desires to Live Long, but No One would be Old!!
