But one day to the Emerald City Comic Convention! We shall be at booth K-04, and I have spent a good part of the day picking my costumes for each of the three days – I’ve elected to wear the garb of a different century each day, culminating in something I’ve never even tried to wear to a convention before on Sunday, so do come and visit us – we shall be ever so lonely if you don’t!
Taft pretty much tells his own story here – for a long time I think he resided in the public consciousness as a figure on a Chester Arthur scale, but word on the street is that all of that is turning around and the man’s accomplishments are finally getting their due. Last year, at ECCC, we met a man writing a novel around Taft’s life, and got not one, but two requests for Taft sketches. The only more requested people at that can were Tesla and Lincoln, as I can recall, though to be fair one of those pictures WAS Taft fighting a bathtub…

We are but three short days away from the Emerald City Comic Convention, where Geoff and I shall be ensconced at table K-04. It is perhaps my favorite three days of the year – hanging out with my best chums, Geoff and Art, surrounded by comics and creativity, and chatting with friends old and new, all while drawing a steady stream of the strangest commissions yet conjured. So do come by and visit us if you are around and about Seattle this coming weekend!
And for those that don’t quite recall all the comings and goings of eagle-guarded necromancer-hunting-robot sanctuaries, here’s a decent place to start, way back in November!
And, in a bit of sad news, there is no winner to the Guess the Sheet Music competition. The samples were all from Prokofiev’s Seventh Piano Sonata, one of my favorites, and one which, if you haven’t heard Sviatoslav Richter play it on one of those old Melodiya recordings, I would hazard to say that you have not yet cellularly respirated.
