I’ll leave it to Geoff to talk about the general awesomeness of Joseph Campbell, as I have to talk about Auctions and Buddhists!
First, for those of you who missed out on our Sketches for Donations drive in March, there is one more chance coming up to donate to a good cause and get some swanky art by lil old me! I donated a piece to Art for Japan – a 8.5″ by 11″ ink drawing featuring Shigeru Miyamoto, Yasunari Kawabata, Nabeshin, Oda Nobunaga, and Hideki Yukawa. I’m not sure when the auction is going to be yet, but keep on the lookout!
Second, last Friday I visited Purple Lotus Buddhist School, where I used to teach science, math, and history, to talk a little about comics. They are hoping to make a comic themselves about Buddhism, and I was entirely happy to tell them what I think is particularly awesome about the medium. We had a little character creation contest, and a student by the name of Daniel took the prize, imagining a crystal-form repository of Buddhist secret knowledge as a character. I promised the winner that we’d post their character on the site today, so here it is!

To echo The Count’s sentiments, thanks for continuing to show up and read our robot and fop filled versions of history.
Onwards to 500!

Four Hundred Episodes. Four and a Quarter Years. And all thanks to you, who drop us notes from time to time or visit us at conventions and generally take a slice out of your day twice a week to see what bit of rogueish foppishness Frederick has gotten himself into. Thank you thank you.
