I strongly doubt that Craterus ever had the balls to stand up this much to Alexander, and offer as evidence that Craterus in fact survived Alexander, a fate which most critics of the Indian Expedition didn’t share.
To balance that assertion with something pro-Alexander, though, I’ll say that I’m 60% sure that most of his insistence on being treated as a god was the result of political expedience.
