Poe has very cleverly gotten himself out of being spliced into the Hawthorne-Melville monster in the works by Newton, opting instead to help Frederick harness the Power of Time in a slightly less sanguinary fashion. Meanwhile, when we last saw General Grant and Kate Warne, they were busy being overrun by the Thoremerson.
