Ep 262 Dolby

Frederick has never quite understood the Power of Time.
But the assembled host here understood a thing or two about conquest. Frederick spent the better part of a decade smacking around Austria and France. Peter conquered Sweden… eventually. Zhuge Liang defeated Meng Huo seven different times. Nader Shah beat back Russian invaders, then extended his empire to Pakistan. Gudit couldn’t pass by an opportunity to take over a new territory and burn its Christian churches, so the story goes. So, yeah, this plan isn’t surprising me TOO much….

I have just been made aware of The 5 Pimpingest Historical Figures on cracked.com.
And by “made aware,” I mean I was laughing so hard that I wasn’t breathing and tears were running down my face. Your mileage may vary.

So, the Western and Eastern Zeitsgeschlaeger squads are in China with the largest empire yet conquered cooling under their heels. And what, oh what, will they do with it? The planning begins in Episode 261: A Still More Glorious Dawn Awaits!

I wandered around APE for a few hours last Saturday. The Count and I were thinking about getting a booth there, but this plan fell through.
However, attending APE as a civilian is still a recommended activity. I was able to meet Kate Beaton (and pick up some copies of her book) as well as Dylan Meconis. A bit of history was discussed, mostly in the form of Henry the Second’s son Geoffrey. Although, I must confess, this was a Geoffrey I didn’t know anything about.
Also, while waiting in Kate Beaton’s line, I was standing next to Tasha Harris of Double Fine. (She also has a game related to her comic.) We mostly talked about her comic and how Brutal Legend is awesome.
Basically, everyone I met at APE was super cool in addition to being extra nice. So, it was a good time.
