<p>Thomas Paine&#8217;s end was one of the saddest to be inflicted upon any of the founding fathers.  After <em>Age of Reason, </em>all of his former political allies, the men who owed the success of the revolution to his pen, entirely abandoned him, and left him to die in squalor.  Rumford, meanwhile, bounced about as Rumfords magnificently do.</p>
