Frederick the Big!! Which is doubly ironic, since he was actually almost comically short, even for the time, which is itself triply ironic, since his father had an obsession with giants. Hmmm... It all comes full circle - DvL

There was a tiny comment box at the bottom of the page, in which I left a comment. Is that separate from this? Is it functional? Is it decorative? Being technologically semi-literate, I'm easily confused. To repeat the answer to your question, I couldn't possibly pick a favorite history book, but I do have a favorite historical novelization: 'Killer Angels' by Michael Shaara.

Hello, kind sirs! I've been a loyal reader for quite some time. If memory serves, I first stumbled across this comic right around the time that Frederick was punching the lights out of an alien menace while extolling the virtues of ear scarves. I've been too preoccupied with law school to read much non-legal history, but I have found time to check in every Tuesday and Thursday for an update. Thanks for the much-needed break in the workday!

I've been reading FtG since I stumbled across it about two years ago. Truly excellent webcomic, well done chaps.

In his native German he is "Frederick der Gross" which sounds pretty funny in English. When I visited Sans Souci one of the tour guides got confused in her English translation and called him "Frederick the Big" which is also pretty funny.

I'm an amateur comic artist who specializes in ridiculous fields and a Frederick fan girl. My favorite book on history is Iron Kingdom, and I've been reading FtG since last summer. I really love FTG because the plot is weird, educational, and it always makes me rotfl. I also really like Frederick because he is really moe! Rock on, FtG
