To repeat the answer to your question, I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite history book, but I do have a favorite historical novelization: ‘Killer Angels’ by Michael Shaara.

In his native German he is “Frederick der Gross” which sounds pretty funny in English. When I visited Sans Souci one of the tour guides got confused in her English translation and called him “Frederick the Big” which is also pretty funny.
